Dr. Mohit Mehra was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama for most of his life. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal medicine at UAB. He subsequently completed his training in Gastroenterology at St Louis University. Following his Gastroenterology training, Dr. Mehra completed an advanced and therapeutic endoscopy fellowship which included training in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP at Yale University in New Haven, CT.
Dr. Mehra maintains a practice in general gastroenterology with a special interest in pancreatic and biliary diseases. He performs EUS, ERCP and therapeutic endoscopy including celiac plexus neurolysis, EMR, pseudocyst drainage and enteral stenting. His interests include staging and diagnosis of GI and non-GI malignancies as well as evaluation of pancreatic cysts. Other interests include colon cancer screening.
